Parveen Shakir

Poem

I lay on my bed for a long time

I wondered where he would be at that time

I am here but in this alley of colors and smells

He must have come today as usual

And when he didn't find me there!?

Do you know that she has not come today?

He must have asked this to every friend of mine

Why didn't she come, what happened?

He will be confused about this a hundred times by himself

If she comes tomorrow, I will not speak to her

He must have cried many times

If she is not, how difficult is the journey to the heights

He must have thought this while climbing the stairs

Near the flowers in the green lawn in the corridor

He must have looked for me in every direction

I forgot the name, which must have come from somewhere

Insensibly he would be startled

A sentence must be recited many times

He must have forgotten a hundred times while talking

This girl who has just arrived is not she?

He must have seen every face with the same thought

partying but today only without me

How will he be alone in gathering?

He must have been horrified at times

He must have called me again spontaneously

As he walked, he heard a familiar voice

What is the excuse to stop friends?

My eyelids must have become wet remembering

It will be avoided by saying "my eyes have something".

And take refuge in books of fear

A dead face must have emerged in every line

When he will get the news of my illness

He must have gently touched the wall

Thinking that the heart will be troubled

Just like that, a person will be stopped for no reason!

By chance I found my friend that evening

I asked, did he come? How was he?

I was asked to look for me all around?

She looked at me for a moment and then laughed

In this laughter, there was that bitterness that beyond that

I don't remember what she said

It is known that the illusion of dreams is broken
